European Physical Society awards the Ukrainian scientist for her work in the field of Particle Physics

The European Physical Society awarded a Young Experimental Physicist Prize to the Ukrainian physicist Lesya Shchutska. This society is a non-profit organization that promotes physics, includes the physical societies of 40 countries, and holds international conferences on physics.

Professor Lesya Shchutska was born in Vinnytsia, graduated from the Physics and Mathematics Gymnasium No. 17, and now heads the Laboratory of High Energy Physics (LPHE) at the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne, as reported by the physicist and science popularizer Anton Senenko.

A couple of years ago, she won a grant from the European Research Council to conduct research at CERN, using the Large Hadron Collider.

She received the award for young scientists in the field of experimental physics “for outstanding contributions to experimental activities in particle physics, from the design and simulation of novel experiments, test-beam operations, and analyses, to data analyses and their final theoretical interpretations.”

In 2016, Lesya came to Ukraine, met with the Minister of Education and Science, and gave lectures about CERN
