Ukraine closes all airports except Boryspil Airport. Tourists are not allowed abroad

Ukraine is tightening quarantine measures due to the spread of coronavirus. Since March 24, new restrictions will be introduced:

  • Ukraine will leave Boryspil International Airport as the only operating civil airport;
  • From noon on March 24, passengers will be banned from leaving Ukraine for tourism purposes.

All airports except Boryspil International Airport will be closed. This concerns passenger transportation only. The exceptions are the state necessity of measurement under separate orders of ministries.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is urging Ukrainians to return to the country by March 27. Special flights of SkyUp, UIA, Azur Air Ukraine are the only way to do it from far abroad.

Previously, Ukraine had already closed the borders for foreigners, as well as stopped long-distance traffic, stopped the subway operation, and imposed a state of emergency in 9 regions.

As of the evening of March 23, 73 cases of infection with coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in the country.
