Ukraine borders closed. However, complete closure is not expected

On March 26, in his televised address, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, announced that by the end of March 27 the state border would be closed. Diplomats will take care of Ukrainians who remain abroad.

Today we act as tough as the situation requires and the challenges of the future. That is why, by the end of Friday, March 27, the state border will be closed, and all passenger traffic will be stopped.

Today, the president’s statement about Ukraine borders closed was supplemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to it, there will still be no complete closure of borders. AIN.UA lists the key points.

• Ukrainians are encouraged to keep in touch with foreign consulates and embassies. You can see the list here. Diplomats will also create “Protection in (city/country name)” groups, where they will publish relevant information.
• The Foreign Ministry claims that all planes that took off on March 27 will be able to complete their flights. They ask people not to buy tickets for later dates, and those who did are encouraged to contact the airline for a refund. At the same time, UIA has already asked the authorities to organize additional flights on March 28. They plan to fly back in 2,000 Ukrainians.
