Ukrainian goods delivery service Zakaz.ua kicks off in Uzbekistan
Ukrainian hypermarket goods delivery service, Zakaz.ua, announced the launch in Tashkent. In the capital of Uzbekistan, Zakaz.ua will work in partnership with the Makro retail chain, as reported to AIN.UA by the press service of the company.
It is reported that more than 3,189 goods are available on the Makro website at the time of launch. The company plans to expand the range to 8,639 items.
“All goods are collected by professional pickers, who carefully check the integrity of the packaging, the proper trade dress, and shelf life. If the goods chosen by the buyer are out of stock, a picker will offer an equivalent product both in quality and price. There is also no need to worry about the safety of the goods: they are delivered in special thermal boxes that ensure proper temperature conditions,” commented Zafar Urunbayev, Operations Director of Zakaz.ua in Uzbekistan.
According to the representatives of the company, Uzbekistan has a very versatile market. Moreover, in Uzbekistan, there is less competition in the delivery of goods than in Ukraine. Therefore, the company saw great potential in business development in this country.
“On the one hand, this country has a strong shopping culture at farmer’s markets with a friendly talk with a seller. On the other hand, the young generation of big cities likes to use modern technologies and try new services,” added Zakaz.ua.
Before each launch, the company’s analysts thoroughly analyze the markets, considering a lot of parameters: Internet penetration, e-commerce market development, competition, the solvency of population, etc. Based on these data, Zakaz.ua makes decisions about the country to launch the service.
To recap, in February 2020, Zakaz.ua raised a €5 million investment. The lead investor was the current shareholder of the service, Chernovetskyi Investment Group (CIG).
Previously, Zakaz.ua also tried to gain a foothold in the U.S. market as the Cartfresh brand, but the service was closed. Later, Zakaz.ua was launched in the capital of Moldova, Chisinau. In Ukraine, Zakaz.ua operates in 15 cities, particularly in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, and Lviv.
