The first English-language online course about Ukraine’s history and culture launches on Udemy

The Ukrainian Institute, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, and online education studio EdEra have created the first English-language online course about Ukraine – Ukraine: History, Culture, and Identities. The online course will cover the most significant events of Ukrainian history – from the founding of Kyivan Rus’ to the proclamation of independence.

The aim of the course is to introduce Ukraine and show that it has always played an extensive role in global history.

The course Ukraine: History, Culture, and Identities is available free of charge. To start the course, you need to register on the Udemy platform.

The course consists of video lectures and supporting materials, such as a syllabus, a glossary, and a list of recommended primary sources for reading.

The course Ukraine: History, Culture, and Identities comprises five modules dedicated to particular historical periods:

  • Kyivan Rus’ in the Middle Ages
  • Ukrainian Lands in the Early Modern Times
  • Ukraine in the Long XIXth Century
  • Ukraine in the XXth Century
  • Independent Ukraine

The lecturers of the course are acclaimed Ukrainian researchers, professors of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy – Vadym Aristov, Tetiana Grygorieva, Kateryna Dysa, Nataliia Shlikhta, and Maksym Yakovliev.
