Raketa becomes Rocket and launches in Cyprus

Ukrainian service Raketa has announced its launch in Cyprus and the name change. On December 23, the delivery service under the new brand name, Rocket, started operating in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. The news was reported to AIN.UA by the company.

This country has become the first in the international expansion of the company. In 2021, Rocket plans to cover ten countries.

Renaming of Raketa

Due to entering the international market, Raketa decided to change its name to Rocket. The visual identity will remain the same: the colors, the corporate font, and the application will remain unchanged.

“There is no such word as ‘raketa’ in most countries. That’s why it was decided to develop in new markets, preserving what has already been created in Ukraine. The Rocket brand will be understandable worldwide and remain recognizable here,” commented Oleg Liubarets, Chief Marketing Officer of Raketa.

In Ukraine, the name change will be gradual. The first who will see the new name will be the users of the English version of the app. Within a few weeks, the name Rocket will appear on delivery bags and branded clothes of our delivery men.

New markets

Cyprus will be Rocket’s launching pad. In March 2021, the company plans to start operations in the Netherlands, and after that, to cover several other European countries.

As Raketa told the editorial team, the company raised investments from the newly established BeeVenture investment company in the spring. Currently, it is the only external investor for the service. The funds were needed to scale it up in Ukraine, enter European markets, and to improve the product. The amount of the deal is under NDA.

The company will also continue to expand the number of cities in Ukraine. By the end of the year, Rocket will be launched in the city of Kropyvnytskyi. It will become the 27th Ukrainian city and the 18th regional center.
